Lincoln College: Normal Campus Housing: What to Bring

What to Bring

You’ve got your clothes packed, some personal items that you plan to decorate your room with, and you may have an idea as to what books you need to buy for your classes – but what else do you need to bring with you? Most first time college students don’t know what they should bring with them to college when they’re living on campus, especially when college is a long distance from home and one can’t travel back and forth too easily.

LCN/MCC apartments are fully furnished. The bedrooms and central living area are carpeted, and the bathrooms and kitchen have vinyl flooring. Each bedroom is furnished with a twin size bed, desk, desk chair, and dresser. Kitchens are equipped with a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. A washer and dryer are also provided in each unit. The layout of the central living area varies from building to building; each apartment is guaranteed to be furnished with a sofa, one armchair or a loveseat.

When it comes to packing, there are a few things that you should bring with you and a few things that you can leave at home. Below are just a few items that we feel you shouldn’t leave home without (and some you should).
